About Our Featured Speaker:
Jan Masaoka is Executive Director of CompassPoint Nonprofit Services (http://www.compasspoint.org), a leading nonprofit management consulting firm to nonprofit organizations. Jan herself consults to nonprofit organizations in financial systems, fundraising, and boards of directors. She writes the Board Café, a national newsletter with more than 24,000 subscribers, and her book on the CompassPoint Board Model will be published by Wilder Press in the summer of 2003. Her research work includes recent studies on executive director tenure, all-volunteer organizations, and nonprofit space & occupancy needs. For the last four years she has been named by NonProfit Times as one of the “50 Most Influential People” in the nonprofit sector nationwide.
Jan’s community activities include serving as President of the San Francisco Foundation Community Initiative Funds, and board member of the Asian Pacific Islander Wellness Center.
